Fall 2025 Update!
Fall 2025 Update!
Sermons are being absorbed at an amazing clip! The ranks of those who benefit from this service has swelled – over 19,500 downloaded. A single teaching has had more than 600 downloads – mostly the PDF (basically a transcript), which means it is being downloaded to study. Exactly what we hoped for! And it is being viewed all over the world. Sermon.net can only capture a small percentage of browser/device locations, but this map still gives you a good look at the vast area we are helping with faithful representations of God’s word. When downloads of all the talks are considered, most every country in the world is represented!!!
Do you rejoice with us? Do you want to see this ministry grow even more? Are you willing to help? We are only able to continue because friends of this ministry have supported us for a long time. Thank you. One day you will hear the thanks of many whom we have never met.

Pray for Us
That we will reach even more people for Christ via Sermon.net, our seminars, books, videos, and our speaking engagements. That we will connect with more churches and church leaders. That the finances will come as we need them. That our lives will not be so cluttered that we miss what God called us to do.
The Art of Wisdom
Success at the Nation Bible Quiz competition in St. Lois! Thank you, Bernie Elliot, for being a great host. We are now registering sales of the book in digital (Kindle) form as well as both printed versions – the Study version (which we now have priced at $10) and the ever popular “leather” reader’s version. This could be the work that changes the life of someone you know! Please do talk to people about the book. Maybe suggest it for a study or a book club. You could buy one as a gift (with their name etched in it). Remember – this book was written such that it can even be used in Public Schools. Share it with anyone you can think of knowing that “all scripture is useful …” – even if they don’t know it is God’s Word!
Work on the free Christian Leaders’ Guide to The Art of Wisdom continues. The first draft is finished through the 10th chapter, and available on our web site. If you’d like to look at it and maybe even help by proof reading, we’d certainly appreciate it!
The Anomai – Defending Death
I know it’s been “a minute” since the 1st part part of the trilogy – and it’s only a novel! (Potential reality for those of you who don’t read fiction. 😁) But I’m nearing the end of the second, and it is way better than the 1st, which I thought was quite good. I’ve also laid out most of the third (maybe call it Last Life?) and have a few chapters written. The main point here – want to proof read for me? Doug Black is doing a great job, but more eyes is always better.
Conference and Speaking Engagements
As a great start to the summer we were able to speak at the Tulsa Metro Baptist Network monthly luncheon. Shared an abbreviated version of The New Sexuality and Christianity from The Art of Wisdom – Guiding a New Generation in a World Gone Mad. seminar. This teaching on practical Christianity was very well accepted, with numerous contacts asking about speaking engagements and promising to schedule us after the summer. The Nationals BQ competition also netted a belated request to give the seminar at a church in Georgia. We are working on that possibility now. Pray that we can equip even more Christians to stand for scriptural truth in a way the world can hear.
On-Line Teaching
The Sermon.net map shows the reach of our efforts from just the last few months from one sermon alone. With no promotions of any kind, by word of mouth alone, through sermon.net alone, we’ve climbed past nineteen thousand downloads. There is a small cost to keep our presence alive on this platform. Help us make this grow!
After some false starts and the ever-present technical difficulties, we hope to have videos of The Art of Wisdom on a few different platforms this year. We’ll start with “author audio” – simply reading of the chapters. This will keep the videos short and relatively easy to produce. We’ve had a number of people suggest we do an interview, or shared discussion, format. Subject suggestions welcome! Tying into our sermon sharing, we could discuss the theology of each sermon. Probably only be of interest to pastors. What would you like us to discuss that the regular Jane or Joe could enjoy and benefit from?
Pastor Andy Jobe (one of our board members) and I are planning on a regularly scheduled video blog as well. We’ll have links on our site – watch for it!
Tulsa Teenflight
It’s hard to connect with the world if all you do is ministry. Tulsa Teenflight has really taken off! (Pun intended.) We’ve been able to gain some great donations (we’re up to 5 aircraft! And lots of miscellaneous goodies), make some great connections and, most importantly, gained trust with kids (and adults) who still don’t know Christ. Pray mainly for that. We’ve been featured in a Rebuild Rescue video, YouTube video, where yours truly has way more camera time than I wanted or expected. Watch for The Art of Wisdom book, it’s quick, but you’ll see it if you’re paying attention! I may never get to fly this side of the rapture, but I can enjoy bringing Christian values, airplanes, and kids together!
Personal Updates
Family
Welcome Amelia! Wow, time has flown by. She’s just starting to take some first steps. Please be praying for Heather and Amelia as well as our son Aaron. Sophia is flourishing in her last year of high school. I know we say this about all our grandchildren – but she owns our hearts! Please be praying for Sophia as well.
Our daughter and son-in-law, Rachelle and Jason, are moving out of Washington state and across the country. They plan to take a year and rent before they decide where they’ll land. Tennessee is the leading spot, but we are lobbying for the mountains of Arkansas – it’s closer to us! Please pray for them and our grandchildren, David, Sasha, and Nife (Abby).
Amelia Loves books - just like her grandpa!
Evie (Evelyn) has advanced to the running stage! She’s barely taller than the dogs, but they’re scared to death of her! Her brother Sam has a long drive to school, usually with his dad, and noticed a number of billboards with Charlie Kirk’s name and image on them. His dad had to answer that difficult question in a way an 8-year-old could understand. “Charlie loved Jesus and liked to talk about him, and a man who hated that shot him.” That resulted in a quiet ride in, but the next day, on seeing the signs again, Sam said “Dad, I want to be like Charlie Kirk”. Wow. This is what we aim for! Please be praying for Stacie and Paul as they, also, continue to direct their children towards Christ.
Evie cheering on her brother and his team.
Houses - God has always been faithful. And we try to be faithful with what he has given us. So now, as we did a few times when we pastored, we have purchased a “fix-er-upper” – a project home. Maybe our most ambitious yet. And we’ve bought some doozyes! It’s how we funded our lives when we were pastoring (we purposefully took a “missions” church. Code for “one that has no money”. 😊) We would sell our now beautifully fixed up house and move into the, hmm, wreck. But this time, for the first time, we purchased the new money maker, before we sold the house we were living in. How hard can it be to sell a house? With the current economy? Hard! We’ve actually put up both the new and old homes – first time for everything! We finally have a closing date for the current home. We also, as of 10/27/2025, have an offer on the additional lot that came with our property. Please pray that everything works as our bridge loan is due in only a couple months. And, wow, pray that we have the strength to finish it. But notice how good God is to us, we will achieve our goal of being absolutly debt free! And – and – consider helping us in our ministry?
There is so much more happening. Contact us at any time, we’d love to hear from you. And – keep working for the kingdom – the world is hearing it!
